Yoshitaka Amano Draws ‘The Umbrella Academy’ In First Look At Limited Edition Dark Horse Print

I heard a rumor that you like cool artwork based on comic books...
The Umbrella Academy, the hit Dark Horse series from Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, has been blessed with a limited edition fine art print—only 500 exist!—drawn by the legendary Yoshitaka Amano. Forbes can exclusively debut the piece (seen above), which is titled “Harvest Moon” and now on sale for $99.99 a pop.
Upon being contracted for the project, an inspiration-hunting Amano took to the rooftop veranda of his Japan home one evening in September 2019. There, in the night sky, sat a beautiful Harvest Moon, one that happened to coincide with Tsukimi, an annual Japanese tradition of viewing the perfectly full autumnal moon.
In that moment, Amano was struck by an image: “Spaceboy, and the rest of The Umbrella Academy, bursting out of the blinding moon falling upon their unsuspecting target,” reads the official press release.
One of the most respected and accomplished artists in the world, Amano has enjoyed a prolific career that spans decades and includes high-profile collaborations with Neil Gaiman, Marvel, and the Final Fantasy video game franchise.
His Umbrella Academy piece is now available for purchase right here. Each 24”x32” Giclée print comes hand numbered with a foiled signature from Amano himself. Supplies are obviously limited. Orders are expected to ship next Wednesday, March 18.
